DuoTrav

DuoTrav is a combination eye preparation used to reduce intraocular pressure in patients with glaucoma. It consists of two active ingredients:

1. Travoprost: This is a miotic agent that dilates the pupil of the eye and improves the outflow of intraocular fluid, which leads to a decrease in intraocular pressure.
2. Timolol maleate: This is a beta-blocker that reduces the formation of intraocular fluid, which also helps to reduce intraocular pressure.

DuoHerb is usually used as eye drops. It is intended for topical use and helps manage glaucoma by controlling intraocular pressure.

Before using the drug, you must wash your hands thoroughly. Then follow these instructions and administer the drops:

1. Lean back or lie down with your head slightly back.
2. Lift the upper eyelid to create a pocket between the eye and the eyelid.
3. Using one hand, pull the eyelid down to expose the inner corner of the eye.
4. Hold the drop bottle with one hand and use the other hand to insert a drop into the pocket between the eye and the eyelid.
5. Avoid allowing the tip of the bottle to come into contact with your eye, eyelid, or other surfaces when administering the drops.
6. Close your eye and press the inner corner of your eye gently with your finger for one to two minutes to prevent the drop from going into your nasal passage.

It is important to follow your doctor's instructions regarding dosage and frequency of use, as these may be individualized based on your condition and response to treatment.

DuoTrav is contraindicated for use during pregnancy, unless the benefits to the mother outweigh the potential risks to the fetus.

6. Uncontrolled hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
7. Certain thyroid diseases.
8. Use of MAO inhibitors (monoamine oxidase) or TCA (tertiary cyclic antidepressants).
9. Children's age (instructions for using the drug must be approved by a doctor for children).

副作用 DuoTrava

1. Redness of the eyes and feeling of irritation.
2. Feeling of dryness in the eyes.
3. Decreased vision or other vision problems.
4. Headache or dizziness.
5. Feeling tired or weak.
6. Allergic reactions such as itching, rashes, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
7. Increased blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes.

過量

In case of an overdose of DuoTrav, symptoms such as dilated pupils, decreased blood pressure, increased heart rate, cessation of breathing, asthma, decreased body temperature, poor circulation, convulsions, drowsiness and coma may occur.

1. Ophthalmic preparations containing beta-blockers may increase the effects of timolol contained in DuoTrava and lead to increased side effects such as decreased blood pressure and slowed heart rate.
2. Medicines containing sympathomimetics, such as epinephrine or phensymetholamine, may reduce the effectiveness of timolol in DuoTrava.
3. Medicines that increase or decrease blood pressure may interact with timolol and travoprost, which are part of DuoTrav, and lead to unexpected reactions.
